NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Integrated Graphics Launched
NVIDIA has launched the new integrated graphics chip for laptops – the GeForce 9400M.
The company says the 9400M “delivers up to 5x faster graphics performance than Intel Centrino 2.”
“The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M is a single chip, high performance, highly integrated design that is ideal for notebooks and smaller computing devices. It features 16 parallel processing cores that deliver a whopping 54 GFLOPs of processing power, making it the most powerful integrated GPU on the market today,” the press release says.
The new GPU is already present in the latest MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops.

Toshiba Portege A600 – New Mainstream Ultraportable

Toshiba announced yesterday the Portege A600 mainstream ultraportable laptop PC, featuring a 12.1-inch display and Intel Centrino 2 technology.
The Toshiba Portege A600 weighs 3.2 pounds. It’s 1.18-inches thin at its thinnest edge, according to the PC maker.
The company currently offers only one A600 model – the A600-S2201, priced at $1,399. It comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 processor at 1.2GHz, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive, and built-in DVD burner. The notebook’s widescreen display has a resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels and LED backlight.
Along with embedded web camera and fingerprint reader, the Portege A600-S2201 provides 802.11a/g/n wireless, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections, two USB ports plus an additional USB/eSATA combo port with “Sleep and Charge” functionality, an ExpressCard slot, SD Card reader, and VGA output.
The A600-S2201 comes with Windows Vista Business OS.
